We at Vaankargha, which means possession of the loom, are of the firm belief that the true path to sustainable living involves using sustainable and locally produced items in our daily lives such as bed sheets, towels, utensils, wearables etc. It's only through incorporating such products in our daily lifestyle can we make a real difference in the lives of artisans and local talents. It's the perfect way to support them and enable them to earn a decent livelihood. Markets for such products can only be possible when there is a demand for them.
We started this company in December 2017, with the motive that it would prevent distress migration of artisans, especially women artisans, to cities in search for work. We aim to enable an ecosystem where artisans and local talents have a platform that ensures that their products reach the right markets, creates jobs for them and empowers them financially.
